How does a value get assigned to my property? A. The State Department of Assessments and Taxation sets the value on your property based on the market value of similar properties in your area. A. Please call the State Department of Assessments and Taxation at 410-512-4905. Q. Where can I pay my tax bill? A.You may pay your tax bill in person at the Office of Budget and Finance, Taxpayer Services Section, Court House, Room 150, Towson, Maryland 21204-4665, Monday thru Friday between the hours of 8:00a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Checks may be mailed to the same address. Checks should be made payable to Baltimore County, Maryland. Q. Does the County accept payments by credit card? A. Baltimore County currently accepts MasterCard and Discover credit cards only. MasterCard can only be used with the "Fast Track" Interactive Voice Response (IVR) System. Discover can be used with "Fast Track" to pay Real Property Taxes and in person to pay bills of any type. Additionally, when you pay in person with Discover, a service charge from the Discover credit card company is passed on to the credit card user, based on the amount charged.
